"DE ALCOHOL Y DESAMOR"

OUTSTANDING ARGENTINE SOLOISTS AROUND A GUITAR MAESTRO: THE ESSENCE OF TANGOL.
WITH FRANCO LUCIANI, EL CHINO LABORDE, RUDI FLORES AND GUESTS.

Tablao de tango, the blues of the port of the Rio de la Plata, is a radical plunge into pure tango, as it was born in the mouth of the Rio de la Plata at the end of the 19th century. Far from the "tango for export", the glitter and its spectacular avatars, this luxury line-up of great soloists - and their travelling instruments, guitar, harmonica and voice - embodies an unadorned harbour blues, a philosophy of the underworld, like fado or rebetiko, a song of exile "of alcohol and heartbreak", protean, still very much alive today in the "boliches", the bistros of Buenos Aires.

The ideal backbone for this exceptional gathering of soloists is the guitar. That of Rudi Flores and his virtuoso art, irremediably tinged with chamamé, the folklore of the Corrientes region, makes it the luxury ally. Walter Laborde known as "El Chino" , solo singer, actor, orchestra singer, former footballer, politically committed, like a Pugliese in his time, is the emblematic craftsman of the 21st-century revival of tango singing. The Tablao de Tango is his story and his DNA, that of a pure tanguero, in a body of a rock-star. Franco Luciani, the multi-award-winning harmonica player, unrivalled improviser with a jazz background, as at home with Piazzolla as with a tribute to Toots Thielemans, as inventive in folklore as in the reinvention of classic tangos. With his portable instrument, which he transforms at will into a bandoneon or a full orchestra, there's no one else like him to embody tango, like the blues.
